We still haven't got much better because we still use Fort McCoy in the winter to get ready to go to the desert. This is my retirement one, so I was pretty grateful that my command thought enough of me to do that and I was able to be awarded those awards. So that was kind of a -- kind of a sobering thing to go through. They are not a poor country by any means. He was released on 12 August 2010 after serving only ten years. "Oh, it will be a couple of weeks, but you need to go get your stuff packed and get yourself ready." I was used to getting things done. In addition to caring for Larry and his brother, his parents cared for foster children. And I think -- I felt a part of the Army. During his time there witnesses, hitherto unaware of his past, reported that he frequented several bars but was quiet and kept to himself. Tea originated in Southwest China during the Shang dynasty, where it was used as a medicinal drink. And then weapons would be -- They would have to be boiled and put away. And where we went to school, everybody was the same. It was -- We went for two weeks annual training but you got the middle weekend off from Friday night to Monday morning, you do whatever you wanted to do. And we started -- The troops started to do more movement, a movement to contact. Did you have some items that you wanted to show here at the end? And I think that's what makes the Guard and Reserve so good. Just very limited way of -- You just write letters and wouldn't -- During normal time it would take about seven to ten days to get a letter from home. But I became the company clerk. And so I got a phone call from a colonel, and he said, "Just come out and talk. It's typical of a -- It's not typical Army strategy but it's just one of those things that you shake your head at. As a result of his background becoming known, there was much dissension among the local population regarding his presence there. It's not like -- and then you get an occasional restaurant. To come up here is kind of a waste of my time." Doyle, if we could just start if you could share a little bit about your background, your family, maybe what you were doing before you went in the service and any members that were maybe in the military. They won't get their hands dirty. They didn't want anything above ground so if a rocket would come in. That's what, you know, in Vietnam, what the experience was, nobody said thank you.
